Between 19th and 22nd of May, the Sixth Italian Forum of Ambient Assisted Living took place. The Forum was inaugurated by the Pro-rector of Politecnico di Milano Lecco Campus prof. Marco Bocciolone, who agreed to host the Forum. Then, Vico Valassi, Chairman of the Sixth Edition and Chairman of Univerlecco, paid his respects to the participants on behalf of the district and of the Lecco innovation network. After him, prof. Tullio Tolio, Director of ITIA-National Research Council and Armando De Crinito, Vice General Director DG Production, Research and Innovation, Lombardy Region.

The Chairman of AitAAL, Pietro Siciliano, and Cristina De Capitani, coordinator of the Technical-Scientific Office responsible for the Forum, introducing the Sixth Edition.

The Lectio Magistralis was held by prof. Paolo Mocarelli, Scientific Director of IRCCS Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi (the video is currently being edited, it will be available shortly).

In the three days of conference, authors, speakers and participants debated on a wide range of themes, from “Disability and Rehabilitation” to “Health Industry”, to “Lifestyles and Nutrition”.

At the same time, the exhibitors were presenting their solutions in the field of technologies for living environments. Here the full list:

The Forum also gave opportunities for leisure! Even if the sun was nowhere to be seen, the participants went to visit Varenna, and met for the Social Dinner!

The event was organized at the same time as the first weeks of EXPO Milano 2015, and the last day gave the opportunity for a visit at the exhibition!

The Forum was preceded by the Second Edition of the ForItAAL School. The training was dedicated to students, researchers and practitioners, to deepen methodologies and the knowledge in advanced technologies for Ambient Assisted Living.

At the end of the conference, Cristina De Capitani passed the baton to Filippo Cavallo (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa), who will be in charge of organizing ForItAAL2016.
